Eldon Village, Shildon

Contract Value: £24,381

Eldon Parish Council and the Eldon Community Partnership received funding from the Big Lottery grants programme Community Spaces, to install an entrance feature and improve the surrounding area. An artistic stone was created by Phil Townsend who was able to incorporate the villager’s ideas into the design of his sculpture.

Sustain Landscapes were contracted to install paths, a seating area, shrub beds and solar lighting. The works involved:

  • Excavation for footpaths
  • Formation of earth mounds
  • Installation of new resin bound footpaths
  • Construction of base and installation of art feature
  • Installation of street furniture & solar lighting
