Sustain Landscapes Wins National Landscape Award

September 16, 2014

Sustain Landscapes are delighted to be announced as winners of a prestigious British Association of Landscape Industries Award in recognition of the soft landscaping works carried out in the construction of the £2.3M Harton Quays Park in South Shields.

Joe Zazzetta, Director of Sustain Landscapes said, ‘Sustain Landscapes have been operating for seven years, Harton Quays Park is the first scheme we have entered for a BALI Award and we are absolutely delighted to be announced as award winners.

Harton Quays Park has an unusual planting scheme which was both challenging to source and also to install successfully as much of the construction took place during very hot, dry conditions. I am proud of all the team at Sustain Landscapes including those who worked directly on the construction supported as always by the staff within our office.

Sustain Landscapes continue to maintain the Park and not a single maintenance visit goes by without visitors commenting on how wonderful the park is. It is great to be involved in the development of a brand new urban park which is being fully appreciated and enjoyed by local residents and employees as well as visitors to the area.’

Greg Allen, Chair of the BALI Adjudication panel said ‘BALI judges have travelled across the UK to review over 100 entries this year and have been hugely impressed with the high standards of design, workmanship and quality of entry submissions from BALI Members. BALI Award winners in 2014 can be assured that they have excelled in their work and truly impressed the judging panel’.
